Is Nancy Grace Full of Grace?

Should CNN'S Headline Nancy Grace be fired from CNN?

  • Long story short, Nancy Grace is a legal analysts for CNN. She was questioning a 21 year old mother about the disappearance of the mother's child. The mother is obviously distraught during the interview, but Nancy Grace is literally interrogating this young mother as if she's being tried by Judge and Jury. After the interview, it was learned that the 21 year old mother took a shot gun and shot herself in the head. Very tragic. Any thoughts?

  • Answer:

SHE SHOULD BE FIRED. Both CNN and Nancy Grace will be sued. In a civil law suit it will be easy to find that: 1) her actions were intentional 2) those actions effected the young mother 3) the suicide was likely a result of it. During a recent Good Morning America (GMA) interview she deliberately circumvented all questions concerning her role in this situation and never showed remorse. (Planning a defense for the impending lawsuit). As a true layer, she will never admit to any wrong doing by using techniques such as re-diverting (like focusing on the young mother's history of suicide and abuse), changing the issue (by focusing on missing child instead of her actions), giving an answer to a question that was never asked or appealing to emotions that are far removed from herself. Besides if Nancy Grace knew about the emotional and psychological instability of the young mother, she should have not pushed so hard?

I can't stand the woman. I can't believe CNN is keeping her on the air. She's so abrasive, her very voice made me rush to change the channel the first time I saw her show, and I'm a big CNN/Headline News fan. She doesn't seem to believe in innocent until proven guilty, she's so busy grandstanding.

I don't know if she should be fired for something she had no real control over (the lady killing herself) I do, however, think CNN should take a long hard look at the interviewing skills, and sometimes totally inappropriate way she conducts interviews on air. I am kind of split down the middle on Nancy Grace. She is a decent reporter. She is not afraid to ask tough hard hitting questions, but while doing that, she sometimes crosses over the line of responsible journalism. I think she tries to become part of every story she presents, and that is not a good thing. She usually just tosses objectivity right out of the window. Although it is a tragic situation that the young mother ended her own life after being "brow-beaten" by Nancy Grace, but who's to say that this young lady would have not killed herself even if she had not been pushed around on a TV program. The young lady consented to doing the interview. She should have known that a tabloid journalist like Nancy Grace would take advantage of her during the interview, and refused to grant the interview in the first place. To sum things up, Nancy Grace is like a Pit-Bull. If you are on her good side, she can be a good friend. But if you get on her bad side, she can literally bite your head off.

SNancy Grace is crude and vicious. I didn't see the interview but it wouldn't surprize me that it happened. Grace should have known about the instability of this already distraught woman. Grace's accusatory manner may well have pushed her over the edge. I hope Grace learns a lesson from this. Fire her.

Pretty irresponsible, I'd say yes.

I think her interviewing methods are just south of torture. I think her victims should refuse to be interrogated. Although, she is not responsible for the death of that woman, but she is not innocent, either. I hope she has trouble sleeping at night. Then she should get BIG bags under her eyes and they would put a sack on her head. She has a terrible voice for announcing anything but hog futures. I think she is abrasive and mean. I never listen. It is tragic about that poor woman. What happened to her child?

If she shot herself it was out of guilt, suicide is for the weak and worthless...just like organized religon.

I came on here to ask a question on this subject. I actually heard the interview as it was happening and was appalled at how Nancy hammered this poor girl. Sure, we can say that the situation smells bad to an outsider but to scream at the kid, pound on her desk and demand precise answers from a grieving mother? She should lose her job. I almost hope they don't find little Trenton. What the h ell are they going to tell him happened to his mother?? Bless them all - I'm sending white light and prayers their way.

I think Nancy Grace went over the line with this young mother. I think she needs to publicly take the responsibilty of her actions and apologize to the family first of all. I also think CNN needs to fire her or reassign her to a position off air (like a consultant). It does bring up another point in our society. Was Nancy G. as well as other "reporters" pushed to be more sensational or more "hard hitting" to get more ratings? Regardless, Nancy G was way out of line period..
