What is the cost of Hydrogen per gallon?

Is hydrogen cost effective yet?

  • perhaps there is this misguided notion that because you need more energy to generate hydrogen.....that it will not be cost effective. it can be. It just means you need more coal energy to create a less energy content hydrogen. But if hydrogen ends up costing 2.89 per gallon(an actual estimate form a study I found on the internet--www.hydrogen.energy.gov/pdfs/p… that's what really matters. We have enough coal in the ground to keep us powered for a couple hundred years......so....if we can tap into it, no matter how inefficiently, we can generate another fuel and bring down fuel prices.
