Does A Public School Have The Right To Make Your Child Eat What They Consider Good Food?

  • if you have heard of the 4 year old child attending school in North Carolina who brought a brown bag lunch of turkey sandwich,potato chips, banana and apple juice. the schools "food gestapo" decided that was not nutritious enough so they gave her chicken nuggets to eat instead of her food. and i think if she decided to eat her lunch, i believe that it would have been taken away fro her, to stop her form eating it! Parents? why should the school have the right to tell your child what he or she can and cannot eat? suppose a child comes to school with hot dogs, pineapple juice,nachos, and chocolate pudding. and the school food gestapo confiscate her food saying its too fattening or too high in salt or carbs or sugar Why Should The Public School EVEN CARE what a child eats! shouldn't their job be t educated them so they can enter society,and the workforce? The turkey and cheese sandwich, banana, potato chips and apple juice, according to the Carolina Journal, didn't meet U.S. Department of Agriculture guidelines. So to meet those requirements, the child was given chicken nuggets. The agent was inspecting the entire class' lunch boxes that day. The left is truly insane and Adam is their agent.

How the hell are chicken nuggets healthier than what the child already have? Chicken nuggets in high school were deep fried pieces of flour/whatever they coated the tiny, tiny, TINY piece of chicken in. I can't imagine they're any different for what a 4 year old's school does. They have no right to confiscate it. If the child doesn't HAVE a lunch, then okay, give them a lunch. If it's a repeat thing, bring it up with the parents. If they're eating, who cares? There's a few rules, but it's for health rules (a lot of schools have no peanut products allowed.)

I think the schools sometimes DO need to step in because the children simply are not being fed any sort of nutrition at all at home. I also think schools should be feeding children who do purchase their lunches foods that are WAY more healthful than they currently do, in most cases. How do we serve our children by offering them highly processed crap, topped off with a drink of sugar water? We don't. The only thing a kid should be able to get their hands on in schools are milk, water, and whole foods. I do not think the school here acted correctly, however. I would not feed my child chicken nuggets-total garbage food, not proper to feed a young child, IMO. If I were that parent, I would be raising he!! at the school, as well as at school board meetings. I'm pretty sure they'd get sick of me by the time it was over.

I look at this as a gateway scenario. They gather, "statistics", from the public school system, to then have "enough information" to justify, the government mandating what is acceptable food in our home. Because as you know, we the people are just too damn stupid to determine what is, and what isn't good for us.
