Do you agree with the statement that "The Jeremy Kyle Show is 'human bear-baiting' "?

A judge, ruling in the case of a man who attacked his wife's lover on the Jeremy Kyle shows, said this to the defendant in his summary. The man allegedly went on the show (what a fool!) after being told by the producers that his wife was seeking a reconciliation. "I have had the misfortune of viewing The Jeremy Kyle Show and I feel bound to make some observations in that regard. It seems to me that the whole purpose of The Jeremy Kyle Show is to effect a morbid and depressing display of disfunctional people who are in some kind of turmoil. It is for no more and no less than titillating members of the public who have nothing better to do with their mornings than sit and watch…a human form of bear baiting which goes under the guise of entertainment. The people responsible for this– namely the producers – should in my opinion be in the dock with you." Do you agree?

Answer:
The Jeremy Kyle show is the UK equivalent of Jerry Springer, it is the side shows of the circus oh look at the bearded lady or the 21st century version of Bedlam.

I doubt that any people who go on the Jeremy Kyle show havent watched it and therefore they should know what to expect. Im sure they know that Jeremy Kyle will instantly take sides (as he always does) and make the object of his derision suffer. He thinks he is such a moral judge of the human race, he only hears what he wants and has no real understanding of the complex issues people have to face. The vast majority of people watch it as entertainment, it isnt, its peoples lives under the microscope. Jeremy Kyle is perfect according to him, I cant stand him!

Personally I think it's a load of stage managed crap, not real, a set up.

Never seen it; work full-time and have no time for daytime tele. It sounds ghastly?

The people that go on that show are low lifes if people want to resolve personal problems they should sit down by themselves or with counsellors and do it. The only positive thing I can see is that ITV can pay for for certain courses and treatment. I wouldn't watch shows like this but people do take part for their five minutes of fame

for the producers its all about the ratings and lets face it they are normally hill billy clampets and slags that go on the show purely to be paid for mouthing off and swearing and acting like hard ones! lets face it the women normally have more tatoos than us men lol

I can't stand that show and it's presenter. As soon as it comes on, I switch to anywhere else.

I have to say, fist tI'me I had heard of Jeremy Kyle was on here and I have been curious and watched it on you tube. I kind of agree with you, yet on the other hand, I have seen he has helped out lots of people that would otherwise still be stuck in some kind of a rut. desperate people, do desperate things. it seems to me its the lower class of people that go on this show and half of them can't even speak proper English ( im sorry its true). I can't imagine why someone would want to go on national television and splash their lives all over national TV, there is something very degrading about it. but that's you and me, obviously the show knows exactly what it is dealing with, otherwise they would not have security guards/body guards/bouncers on hand. The fact that these people go on the show, I would imagine do so at their own risk, I have not seen too many, some I found quite interesting and some rather sad. These people are all consenting adults, I'm not sure the producers are to blame entirely, its evident that the type of person on this show has no control over their anger and emotions. I really understand where you are coming from, yet I'm not sure we can always blame others for our actions.

the show is funny but have you noticed the women with the clip board whos getting the other person going before they go on its all a fix and someone i no went on it said that he wasnt able to defend himself had to sit and take abuse of the other person and couldnt say a bad word back its a fixed show for all us to have a laugh at or sometimes more then often cringe at
shon
You can't blame him, look at the type of people the show attracts! say' it all really .......
