How many times do we have to hear from journalists that fellow journalists were killed and injured in Syria?

  • The whole Syria issue seems to now be reduced to the dead and injured journalists. It's all news journalists want to tell us about. Couldn't they perhaps move on from reporting these few facts and go back to concentrate on general reports. Or have we just got to go on being spoon-fed about how wonderful journalists are? At a guess the injured journalists are not the only human beings desperate for medical attention.

    And how do you think we get the news of what is happening in Syria ? These people risk their lives to bring the world the facts of the human suffering and sheer terror many in Syria live with and some die doing it have some respect .

When I see the news from Syria, the first thing I think is not "I hope those journalists are all right". I couldn't actually care less about them, and if any of them get themselves severely killed doing there job of standing and watching and telling us what happens, then I don't think of it as either a big thing or the worst thing in the world. The same happened with the journalist Alan Johnson was kidnapped. When I saw the headlines "THE JOURNALIST ALAN JOHNSON HAS BEEN KIDNAPPED", my first thought was "Who the hell is Alan Johnson and why exactly should I care"? This question has never been explained to me. I mean, I'm very sorry they get kidnapped or killed, but it's not exactly the main news story is it? I mean, the war they were covering is still going on is it not?

These people were warned time and time again to leave as the danger increased. They brought trouble on their own heads by refusing to take any notice. I have no sympathy.
