• You really want to help people in Uganda? The LRA has not been active in Uganda since 2006. If it's Kony you want, go to Central Africa. But what the people in Uganda still need is help to recover from the mess that Kony left behind. Many children and young people were orphaned by the LRA, and many lost their homes and livelihoods. What these people need is help to find their feet and learn how to use what they have most of - land - to provide for themselves, their families and their communities. If this sounds like something that you're interested in contributing to, a local Devon charity called Amigos have for some years now been working in Uganda at a place called Kira Farm Training Centre to do this exact thing. They take in 40 students every year from across Uganda and give them the essential skills to live profitably and sustainably. As somebody who has visited Kira Farm and seen the work they've done there, I can honestly say that they are a worthwhile charity to support. I saw exactly where the money I donated went - digging a trench and installing pipes to bring clean water to the people, buying a wheelchair for a woman with no legs who had to crawl 2k a day for water, paying for a child's AIDS medication, etc. Kony is not in Uganda. If you want Kony, look to central Africa.
