What happen to [email protected]?

IF the USA (in a parallel universe) severed all ties with Israel, what do you think will happen?

• If the USA (which won't happen) severed ties with ISrael cut funding it and refused to give support to it...what do you think would happen? Basically what would happen if the USA decided to cease helping Israel?...don't tell me "its never gonna happen" I already know that I just want your opinion as to what would happen if it were to happen

  I would guess that our relations in the Middle East would improve greatly. I think that many Palestinian Muslims feel that America pushes Westernization upon the Middle East and this upsets them, however, they see us as, and we are, the world's biggest allies of Israeli and I believe this is what upsets them most about us. Israeli does not have many other allies itself, so if we cut ties I think it would also help our relations with many other countries including your big boys like China, Russia etc. Having said that, I do think that Israel would not exist as a state for very long. Israel has an average sized military and a stable government, but it would not take long before Hezbollah in the north, and Hamas from within and without, (Gaza Strip, West Bank, Syria, Egypt etc) would finally reclaim Israel as Palestine. Israel's average sized military would only be able to hold up for so long without our help. Where do you think they get all of the state of the art weapons and aid from? With no more Israel it may be safe to say that there would be a relative peace in the Middle East. It is probable, methinks, that, in much the same way that some Palestinians have done (like Hamas for example) that some Jews would react in a violent and terrorist type manner to try and reclaim this land that they feel is theirs. The violence would probably be less, however, as I am fairly confident that there are many less Israeli Jews than Palestinian Muslims. That being said, this relative peace in the Middle East along with America's much better standing with the rest of the world may look tantalizing to some as a reasonable diplomatic approach to all of this. I guess the real question is whether you believe that Israel should be a recognized state or not. Do the Jewish Israelis have a reasonable claim to the land or is it the Palestinians? Probably one of the best questions one could ask and I wish I had an answer. Another question I have is why exactly the US backs Israel so fervently. Certainly it is not because, or at least entirely because, the US believes the land belongs to Israel. I know they do believe it belongs to Israel (especially since we had a large hand in Israel becoming a state after WWII), but it seems like there is some extra stake that they have in Israel and I wonder, in the least sinister and most innocent way, what exactly that is.
