What does it mean when someone says that i don't love her like talking about it?

• steve says he dont love his ex wife,even though when we broke up breifly for 1 month he went back to her.She constantly fought with him,put him in jail,harassed him,hit him and jumps on his back.he was divorced from her for 1 year when we got together and he had lost everything he owned to her,so he had nothing to give but i still fell in love with him.Now he says he will always love her someway,they have no kids together.She treats him so terribly,and kept all his things the 2nd time around.we are together now and about to get a place together,i have 2 small boys and divorced myself.how can i trust him,when he still tries to call her to get his things back and she is still calling him.?Oh and we broke up once before and i wound up dating someone else,but it was legit,i let steve know i didn't want to stay and lead him on at the time because of his attachement to the past?thanxs

  If he still has that much attachment to her without even having children together, I think you should seriously reconsider the relationship. Especially with you having two young boys, they do not need to go through a relationship that has so much drama in it. You do not deserve it either. It sounds to me like he may be one of the people that likes being treated poorly, some people actually feel like they deserve it. I do not know how deep your feelings are, only you know that. But if you are able to look back logically and without too much feeling involved, you need to reanalyze your situation. I think he may have some issues with his ex he needs to resolve before he moves on. Th eonly time a previous relationship is truly over is when you feel NOTHING, Sounds to me like he feels lots of anger. I know this is not what you wanted to hear, but trust me, if he has not gotten over her, he will not be able to give 100% to you and your family, and you guys deserve 100%...
