Is it normal to miss high school after 2 years?
-
I'm at a low point in my life right now. I'm in college, but commuting, and living at home. Next Fall I'll be moved away to college and will be with my friends a lot more. All of my friends either live away at college or are working all the time, so I'm left being alone 90% of my leisure time. So I went through some of friends' facebook pictures and saw photos of graduation, and the last few months of school, and a few others of 2009, which I consider my best year since I had so many friends and got a lot of play from girls, and was actually doing things on weekends. I saw those pictures, and just thought to myself "how did time go by so fast", and felt my heart sink down to my stomach. I have a really good memory, and a lot of events from years ago seem like yesterday, so it's kinda depressing thinking about graduation and my friends from years back. Anyone else feel this way?

Answer:
You will find that as you get older, you will hardly remember high school and it will be so not important at all. It's nice to reminisce, but don't get stuck in the past dude...there's a whole big world out there. Throw yourself into the future and go out and meet new people. You will have so many new friends in college and in work and you have so...so many wonderful times ahead of you. I envy you. I have been to my 10, 20 and 25 year reunion. I vowed never to go back after that...i didn't even know who those people were. I had a handful of people that I kept as friends, but that was it. You will be the same. High School is not the highlight of your life, I can tell you that much.

word for word this is exactly my story too, kinda weird. i mean 2009 was my best year too, and all my friends went off to college or are working (i decided to stay and start my own business) so i dont really talk to them anymore. and yes, seeing all the old pictures is very depressing.. it was just such a fun time in my life, no worries, no responsibilities... everything has changed now, i try not to dwell on it, but how can one not dwell on a time that was so exciting and blissful ? but i was so depressed one day about it and i had a revelation. while high school was so fun because of the innocence, lack of responsibilities, i mean even going to school was fun, it was just a 7 hour social event lol but i really thought about it and the reason things were so great was not because of what i mentioned above, but rather, and more simply put, it was because i was having fun. thats it, you need to surround yourself with good people, keep busy and have a good time was that not what you were doing in high school? you were having fun in high school because YOU were having fun dwelling on the past only negates the present
