How Did you Divide Up the Jobs at your Home with Your Spouse?

I'm not even sure how these things got divided up to begin with but . . . he makes the bed which I can't stand doing, he cleans the fish & turtle tanks, and washes dishes as he uses them. I cook, feed the cats, and do all the deep cleaning like floors, bathroom, refrigerator, etc. So mostly he picks up around here but I deep clean.

Lets see, he takes out the garbage, and mows the lawn. I do the rest, until i loose my mind, then he generously takes over. :)

I do the inside work and he does the outside work- simple! He also entertains the kids while I do the inside work which is great!

I do everything at the house. I can ask, beg, nag... but I don't think that will ever change! He may remember to take out the garbage!

The kids unload the dishwasher and take the trash out. My husband takes inventory of the beer in the fridge, chain smokes, and washes his own clothes. I do everything else. :( AND I work a LOT of hours (can't you tell?)

we just pitch in and share it. i usually cook, she does laundry, i mow the yard and take out the trash. whoever has time just does what is needed.

I believe that the husband should do just as much as the wife. My wife cleans up after I cook and prepare the dinner table. However its a little different. I work shift work (4 days on, 4 days off - Im a firefighter) and she is a grade 2 teacher) So we arent home all that often at the same time. But the days we are together, we'll throw on some good music and clean together...which often leads to great..well you know ;) But my case in point...its 50/50 and you keep up your share..life is wonderful. Been married for 7 years now

I do the laundry. My husband does dishes. He usually cleans kitchen/bathroom and I'll clean living room/bedrooms. He cooks a lot, so sometimes I'll clean up when cooks. He'll load the dishwasher and I'll put it away. We like different chores; thank goodness I don't do dishes that often. I guess it relaxes my husband; he will come home from work and immediately just do dishes...a kind of zen thing for him.

Only I do: cooking, grocery shopping, laundry, dishes, taking care of the pets and the fish tank, changing linens and towels, keeping track of our social schedule, sending out holiday/b-day cards. Only he does: bills, keeping track of our finances, long-term financial planning, handyman jobs around the house, electrical, plumbing, home theater, computers, keeping the garage / work bench in order, fixing anything that needs fixing. Both of us do: light cleanup as necessary, teaming up on various work projects. Hired help: maid service, a gardener, a pool guy. I dunno, we seem to make a pretty good team.
