Can divorce affect my immigration process ?

• i am married to a man who is verbally abusing me by all means , we r not canadiens but live in canada waiting for our immigration , he will get it then sponsor me to get it , he is abusing me and made many problems with my family untill they hated me too and dont want me anymore because of him , thats why i cant go back to my country , i want to know if i called the police and go to the court to get divorce , will this affect my immigration papers as he is my sponsor ? and how can i proof the verbal abuse ? will the court give make him compensate me financialy of that abuse during more than a year ? i cant sleep and i think about suicide to get an end of my suffers what can i do ????
