I need help filling out divorce papers in Queens NY and I can not afford an laywer?

My husband is in jail and he has filed papers with the queens county clerk now i have the index # but I have to do the paperwork and send him the right ones to sign... Can anyone help me understand the packet and which ones I need to send him also does anyone know how long it will take for a divorce to be final if there is no property just two people wanting to get out

ANYTHING you fill out and send to the Court he needs a copy of - any motion, affidavit - any correspondence. You need to cc him everything. He also needs to do the same for you. It can take 3 months (or less or maybe a bit more) if the divorce is uncontested and there is no dispute of property. If it is cut and dry with no surprises it can be finalized in under 3 months. But there is a backlog...so nothing is ever set in stone time wise. Good luck.
