I am homeschooled and I need friends ASAP. Any Ideas?

• I will be going into the 10th grade when school starts back and this will be my second year to be homeschooled. I was in public school from K-8th grade, so I am used to having friends to hang out with, laugh with and just having fun all of the time. Last year was miserable. Even though I do have a boyfriend and we have been together for a year and a half now, a girl still needs her friends. I don't want another repeat of last year because all I did was do school for about an hour and a half and then sit and watch television the rest of the day and that was really boring. I want to have a better year this year, I want friends that I can hang out with and talk to. Are there any chatrooms for homeschooled high school students that I could join? Or does anyone have any ideas how I can meet friends? Any advice would be GREATLY appreciated.

  I am not sure what the legal status is when you are in home school at your state. But i was in homeschool the majority of high school. I was legally allowed to walk the streets during school time. So, i would just meet my friends at thier school during lunch. Then go hang out by myself wondering around until school got out and join in on thier activities. I did have these friends prior though. As for meeting new friends, the internet is lame for creating real relationships with people. I would considering hanging out at all the local cool kids spots and see if you can meet some cool people there. I also hung out with people who were out of high school also. college students take classes later and i hung out with alot of my brothers friends when homeschooled. The other thing that i did to pass the time, was i took up every hobby i enjoyed. I bought a guitar, got a job, got a girlfriend, attended a lot of parties, started Dj'ing, learned Escrima and Chi Sao...but thats just me
