What can i do if im eighteen year old girl soon to be nineteen and have no friends?

Im in college and its nearing the end of the year and i feel very alone,im always trapped inside my own mind and i feel different to everybody!I dont think anyone will like me and im sure they definitely wouldn't if they knew the real me,im horribly flawed personality wise,im always sad and anxious and angry and zoned out and get constantly angry at my parents,i live with them but im just sick of it and i even dream about friends ive had in the past now.I just feel so lonely but i dont think othere people would ever even like me,what do i do?im doing well in college and i attend all of my lectures but thats about the only thing that is keeping me connected to 'life' other than that i just get lost inside my own mind and im dreading the holidays as im going to be trapped inside my head,i dont know what to do!

Hello: Most colleges provide counseling services at a free or minimal fee. Go there immediately! A counselor may be able to help you by either talking through your concerns or providing medication that helps. Also, if you have any hobbies, find a club where you can practice it. You don't have to try to make friends, but be around people and learn how they interact. Good luck!

it sounds like the environment you came out of before college was not to healthy a place for developing friendships. but just think college is a whole new environment, means its possible to get a fresh stat on the friends and friendships, you have some insecurities, true but allot of us have insecurities, what really defines a person is their ability to work through and with difficulties. see a counselor at the school their, they can probably come up with some ideas to help you make some friends, as for the holidays, remember their are always some one who cares, what about your parents, go home tell them you love them, and just be there for them. regardless. you don't know me but i do care!

I used to be very shy, and people thought that I was stuck-up. I thought that I was ugly and unintresting to be around. Find out something about yourself or your family that is interesting or unusual. College is the perfect time to reinvent yourself. Don't be fake, just be yourself and don't worry about what others think so much. Your best friends will like you just the way you are. Take a chance and do something that you,ve always been interested in but were too anxious to try. Find people with the same interests as you and you will find a friend because you will always have something in common. And remember-God made you-And God doesn't make mistakes. Good luck.

Start joining some clubs. Seeing that the semester is over, next semester, the clubs should open up to new members. See what you are interested in and join. Its a great way to know people and make friends. You shouldn't have to be left out!

Sounds like you need serious counseling and possibly medication. What you're experiencing sounds like textbook depression and there is treatment for it. You don't have to live that way. It could be that a lot of what you feel is chemical and can be corrected. I suggest you go see a therapist and if necessary a psychiatrist. Once you get your mind in a healthy state, self-confidence and friends are sure to follow. And don't worry about being a flawed person. We all are! Trust me, even people you think are perfect are terribly insecure about something. Just work on being the best version of yourself you can be. And try to be a little more social. You say you attend all your classes, which is great. But how about joining a club at school? Signing up for a committee? Or even starting a club for other kids who feel the way you do? Or try volunteering your time for a worthy cause. Nothing takes your mind off your own troubles like helping someone else through theirs--especially around the holidays. Plus, it'll make you feel really good about yourself. Contact the Red Cross or the ASPCA, or even Toys for Tots. Also, talk to your parents about how you're feeling. Odds are, they don't know it's this serious. Let them be there for you. Most important, don't give up. Just be proactive about getting help and hang in there.

You said you were scared that people would dislike you if they knew the real you. If you're shy, don't let it stop you. People will dislike you more if you try to be somebody you're not. Personally i hate them. Posers, wannabes, wangsters, and people that say things just to be liked. Be yourself totally. And you shouldn't worry so much!! You're in college! Have fun, get a degree, and enjoy the ride! And you also said that the last group of so-called "friends" made fun of you. They are not real friends. Find someone who understands you and listens and takes into account your feelings. Keep your chin up and dont worry about what people think of you! If they can;t appreciate your qualities then forget them!

Your setting yourself up. Stop playing that same tape over and over in your mind. Your downing yourself. Hold your head up high, walk down the street with a big smile on your face. You would be surprised to see how many people will respond back with a smile. Some will even say "hi" even if they don't know you. After doing that for awhile, maybe you could look for some group/organization that might be of interest to you.
