Have you ever been made fun of and how did you deal?

Who was made fun of in high school? And how do you deal with it today?

  • I was picked on high school i guess. I was never beat up, I avoided fights. I mostly just got a lot of verbal abuse. Anyways, I'm in college right now and it still kind of hurts to think about those times but my theory is that you should forget about the idiots that made fun of you right? Because its kind of stupid to let those people bother you for the rest of your life right? Because in a way your letting them win. I'd be interested to hear your stories and thoughts.

  • Answer:

I was terrorized by a gang of girls and it affected me. They rode by my house at night calling out names, trashed my belongings at school, spread rumors and threw lit cigarettes at me as well. This went on until the end of school. I had no self-esteem and blamed myself for it. It stays with you to some degree. Now its years later and honestly I still think about it now and than. I run into one of them once in a while and amazingly a couple of them have even tried to make conversation. I walked away. Not to be rude, but because I don;t owe them politeness. What they did to me was cruel. If one cares to apologize, I will listen. Other than that I am not interested. Mostly, I enjoy the fact that I am doing just fine and still look better than most of them!!! lol In fact I see the ring leader once in a while and here is the 40- something woman whispering and giggling with friends as I stand in a line with my daughter. My daughter even asked me why that woman was talking about me. So as we were leaving I walked by her table and stopped. I looked at my daughter and said,"This is what happens to class bullies. They never grow up." Then I stood there looking at her for several seconds. There was no more talking. I loved it. So, you may always remember it now and then but it is true that the best revenge is living well. People who habitually torment other people really are miserable. Keep your head up and keep climbing. If they happen to hear about it, it will kill em and you won't have to do a thing! Do your best in college and go on to have a great life!

I still am bitter over the abuse I suffered when going to jr. high and high school. I think back now and I know that all teenagers have the propensity to be cruel and vicious. I had friends that were not really friends and I knew people that I had hoped would die a slow painful death after what they had done to me. I wished I was a gorgeous, tall, blonde with a great intelligence, talent and wit but I lacked the gorgeous, tall and the blonde. Somehow, I managed to push through life and gleaned a lot from my experiences in those awkward years. Ye though I walk through the shadow of the valley of death I fear no evil because evil is what I had known all those years ago and I will only pass that way once.

I get made fun of by one of my school's most popular girls. She makes fun of me because I'm smart, when she's a moron!! So why she laughs at me, not so sure. But I don't care that she does. She's a brat and everyone knows it. Her opinion doesn't matter to me, and whoever made fun of you shouldn't matter to you. They have no dignity for doing that, and they may feel bad for doing it one day. I'm not saying it will, but it could. Just move on. Focus your life on all the positive things, and all the negative things will go away!!

I was never picked on in high school but in middle school I was horrible. I stood with me but then through high school I forgot about it. Don't let it bother you high school students could be so cruel and mean. But Karma what goes around comes around and it will kick them in the but someday.

PEOPLE ARE MEAN. THEY'RE JUST JERKS. SOME KID SAID I LOOKED LIKE I HAD DOWN SYNDROME....IT REALLY HURT BUT IN A WAY I'M GLAD HE SAID IT. I AM SO MUCH MORE STRONGER THAN BEFORE. I'M STILL SENSITIVE BUT NOT NAIVE. THE POINT IS EVERYTHING HAPPENS FOR A REASON. AND YOU LEARN FROM EVERYTHING. EVEN WHEN IT WAS THE HARDEST THING TO COMPREHEND. YOU'RE HEALING YOUR SCABS AND YOUR SKIN IS THICKER.

I was pick on my first year of high school, it happen the last 3 weeks before we got out. It was verbal, i even decide to take it to my prinpcal and homeroom teacher. it was never settle. I told and ask my mother if i could just hit the girl. my mother and friends gave me good advice. they said she isn't worth your tears or anger. I still think about it sometimes and my mind goes back and still want to hit her. I have found another way to deal with it through i started taking muay thai to deal with how i felt. it works really well for me and i haven't through about until now. I Don't give a damn about what people think of now, because kids are going to be kids. I left that school, because there wasn't anything good coming out of it, not even scholarships, or universities were coming to visit. i feel like i made a great choice to leave, because the school i go to now, i already have scholarship for school. Karma- what goes around comes around!! I am a junior in high school now and has become sronger than ever.

I also got verbal abuse, even from my family. Well, I was the fat kid with glasses, red hair and a limp - easy target really. My family just got on to me all the while, mostly my brother but sometimes my parents about being fat though. I just knew I was/am as good as them. I was never any good at sports but it did`nt stop me trying, turned out after visiting my GP and a specialist, I`d got a heart defect so was never going to be able to run etc. My heart defect and later I found out hip dysplasia was caused by a birth defect. So my parents made a defective model, see it`s their fault !! I`M AS GOOD AS ANYBODY ELSE.

Yes, it is totally dumb. Forget about those people and work hard. You can laught at them when you are successful! At my high school right now, the super smart kids and "fobs" are actually made fun of. I really don't fall into either category but I do get extremely mad when thye are picked on because nobody has the right to tell them that they're not perfect or that they're losers. because they're not
