I have two questions: First, how hard is it to land a TE position with the post office? If I am selected for an interview is that almost a given? Second, do transitional employees receive any benefits?

Answer:
If you get an interview that is a good sign, but not a given. Transitional employees are temporary employees and do not receive any benefits.
