How long should a missent USPS package take to arrive?

• A package that's suppose to arrive today apparently got missent. The PO it was sent to is only a half hour from me, yet it still hasn't arrived at my PO, over 2 hours after the missent notice was posted. How long should it take for my package to arrive? I sort of wish they had just left the package at the wrong one so I could've just picked it up there, if it's going to take a long time to arrive here.

  It has to be sent back to the area sorting center, where it was misdirected in the first place. Hopefully they will sort it to the right office this time. My concern is that parcels like letters, have bar codes on them. So machines sort them by the bar code. If no one crossed out the wrong bar code, it will just get sent back to the wrong office. This is called loop mail. If everyone does their job, you should have it the next day, two at the latest. Good Luck!
