Can you buy things online with a Simon Mall gift card?

• I got a mall giftcard, its simon mall and its with american express and i was wondering if we can use it at places out side of the mall or online,on the back it says *Use only at US merchants that accept american express Cards except cruise lines and casinos*, does that mean i can use it anywhere or are thy just saying anywhere at the mall tht excepts american express. thank you very much xoxo
