How old do I need to be to work at a store in the mall?

  • Im still 14 at the moment but the mall I would probably end up working in would be the roosevelt feild mall up in long island. When I turn 15 would i be able to get a job there just working in one of the stores? Or by NY Law would I still be too young. I know somebody my age who works at a mcdonalds, so I don't know if it would be the same when it comes to me being employable at the age of 15. would I be?

    It shouldn't matter where you are employed. It will be based on whatever age your state has dictated to be the legal employment age. The location the employer is irrelevant. Good luck. Hope you get the job, however ad mentioned, make sure your education doesn't suffer because of the job

When I was 15 that was the age you could get permission from the school to work if your grades were good. Now, they don't care about grades, or keeping you in school or teaching you anything that resembles real history and I hear we are way behind in world wide science and math rankings so the rules have probably changed. Good luck on your job.
