Does a USPS City Carrier (TE) have set hours?
-
I've been invited to a pre-employment orientation for the above mentioned position. I just want to know, would this job entail set hours (Mon-Fri 9-5 etc.)? Also, any idea on what my odds of securing employment are? I mean, as long as I'm personable and interview well should I be ok? Will I be the only person there or no?

Answer:
Most carriers report to work between 7 a.m. and 8 a.m.. Being a TE, you will probably work 6 days a week and may or may not get 40 hours per week. Your odds of securing employment? It will depend on how many TEs are needed and how many are being interviewed. And by the way, be prepared to submit to a drug test. If you fail it, there is no chance of employment.
