How many stamps should I put on this envelope? (UK)?

I am waiting for a document to arrive that I need to post as soon as possible because it has to arrive at an office by Friday. It is a large brown envelope, paper thin, weighs under 250 grams. How many first class stamps should I put on it? 1? 2? I have 5, just put them all on and pray? Thank you kindly in advance. (P.S. I am unable to use special delivery/courier services so just wondering about Royal Mail First Class here)

If it was me and I really couldn't get to the PO to have the thing weighed, I would put all five on. Postage used to be by weight only, but now it also goes by size of the envelope

RM Postie here: A single first class stamp(large size) for an A4 envelope will cover up to 100grams. anything beyond that see the link in source - its Royal Mails price guide. BTW if you send Thursday its not guaranteed to arrive Friday - it more than likely will as 93% of items do currently. There is a guaranteed service called special delivery but it costs a bit extra. Only you know how important it is.
