Can you use paypal.com at the post office?

Does the post office require ID to use?

  • I will be using Ebay to sell some stuff and am just wondering, do I need Identification when I go to use the post office? I wont be selling particularly large items (anything bigger than maybe an average printer)

  • Answer:

The only time you should need an ID at the post office is if you are trying to cash a postal money order. The post office will check the weight. They will ask you how you want to send it, (Priority Mail, Parcel Post, etc.). They will ask you questions like 'is this perishable, flammable, or fragile?' They accept cash for postage. You can take your package to the post office before you sell it to have them weigh it for you. Once you know the exact weight you can use eBay's shipping calculator to show each person who looks at your items how much it will cost them in postage to their location. If you plan on selling more than a handful of items I strongly suggest you invest in a small digital scale. They can be had on eBay. A single ounce can make a difference in cost. A package weighing 1 pound and 1 ounce must go at the 2 pound rate. Do not attempt to use your bathroom scale. It can be off by as much as 4 pounds.

You only need ID to cash a money order (as the first response said) or if you pay with a check. They'll weigh everything on site and charge based on weight, shipping distance, and delivery speed. And yes, they take cash.
