Does Fedex Ground deliver on Saturday?

Ever have Fedex Ground refuse to deliver a package to your home address? I have several times...?

  • Living in a romote rural area does have its drawbacks, especially when it comes to Fedex Ground delivering packages addressed to these areas. Every time Fedex G has a package for us, they call and tell us that they don't have to deliver the package to our home, and that we have to meet them at the highway or they will drop off the package somewhere in town. And, every time I call the main Fedex 800 # and talk with someone higher up, and the package finally gets delivered to my door. I have filled-out a complaint form with the Better Business Bureau, and am waiting for their response. We never have a problem with DHL, Airborne, or UPS delivering to our home. The Fedex G drivers keep saying its because the local terminal who contracts the deliveries doesn't want to go thru "Bump Gates" (gates that the vehicle bumps with the front fender, gate swings open, and vehicle goes thru; they can also be manually opened, and propped open with a stick or long, sturdy object).

  • Answer:

I heard in very remote areas -(like Alaska) they give the package to the post office for delivery you might want to call FedEx and complain you might want to use Fed Ex express and not ground

as long as you dont have to deal w/ the US postal service you should be happy....at least fedex doesnt lose the package and say "sorry, its not our fault we lost your package"

That sounds like laziness to me, and not a very good business practice, if all there major competitors have no problem using the bump gate, neither should they.

They can refuse to deliver any where they want to. You're lucky the agree to drop in town or meet you at the road. Usually you'd have to go to their main depot and pick it up yourself. My brother is up in Alaska and only the USPS will deliver up there, and then it's hit-and-miss. If it's a trial to you with FedEx. Then have everything delivered by another company.
