What is the modern french woman's style?

I bought a bike from a cash convertors type store and i have since found out it is a womans model.?

    The store has not mis led you or described the bike as a mans bike , so you have got what you chose. They are not to know if you like riding womens bikes and only want a sale , but they have not done anything wrong. You will be lucky to get a refund if you ask me.

I woman's bike generally has a slightly lower middle frame section (the bit between your legs). I understand this is because going back to the old days, women only wore dresses so it allowed enough space. It's kind of stuck since then. That will generally be the only difference. If the lower frame didn't bother you when you bought it, why would it now? As long as its not bright pink, who's going to really notice or care?!

When you say it's a Ladies model, that would be WITHOUT the cross-bar, to catch a guys' nads on, right? I have NEVER understood why we got those bars on our bikes!

No because the bike is fit for purpose and not faulty, if the display sign said man's bike then you could have a case.

You can ask them. Mostly you should have asked prior to purchasing. It is my understanding that the only reason why the men's bikes have a bar up high is to provide extra stabilization for the extra weight that a man might have. Nowadays women can be kind of weighty also. If you are not that heavy, the bike still might serve you well. The bar can be difficult to negotiate for some people anyway.
