How do I become an event planner?

Are there any credentials needed to become a wedding/event planner?

• I would like to be a very professional wedding/event planner... the kind my colleagues will trust completely, and will know is very well-learned to the business. What are some college classes I would take, some things I would do to get well-known, etc.? Thank you all. :)

  Unfortunately, No. & Trust is something earned, not a "given". You mean, "In the 'industry'." Take organizational planning, or anything with organization. Email me if you'd like to 'pick my brain'. One thing you'll need to accept, is that weekends will no longer be yours to do with as you please. You'll be working. & also, for every unhappy client---if you work hard at making ppl happy, you'll have 100 who are happy.
