Can they pick and choose what coupons they take at a store?

• I was wondering if a store accepts cigg. coupons can they say we only take newport coupons and we dont take marb coupons its only the guy at night that does it cause if you take any brand coupon during the day they take them...He is really short and it seems he only does it if someone is taller than him..The reason why im asking to me its not about the coupons its about the fact that he is lying.so just wanted to know if they can do that and it is a quick stop so they are a franchise and they take all coupons...thank you for answering and i will pick a best answer

  Look at the terms on the coupon. Call marlboro and ask for the terms and conditions. Usually for cigarettes since it's a manufacturer coupon (as in the manufacturer of the product reimburses the store for the lower price) they must accept it. It's part of having the ability to sell them. Furthermore, if marlboro says they must take the coupon, the store MUST take the coupon. It's illegal for a store to refuse a valid, unexpired and nonconflicting (no limitations as to one coupon at a time or stuff like that) coupon for any reason. It's illegal advertising.
