How safe is it to buy on eBay?

A lot of sellers will not post outside of the UK, partly because so many problems arise from false non-receipt claims. For them to have some protection in the matter, they need to use a signed-for service, which is hugely expensive, and unreliable in some countries. A high postage cost also means that they are vulnerable to being downgraded on 'value for money' assessments on their P&P. That means they may end up being booted off ebay. Overall many feel it isn't worth the hassle/risks and sell to UK only.

generally speaking.. very safe. Check the sellers negative feedback. Never had a problem and I've made over 60 purchases within the last month. Even the few things I've bought from abroad arrived fine (yep.... China). I do buy a lot of stuff off ebay (hate going to the shops).

ensuring you and the seller use PayPal you are most definitely protected e.g if the seller didn't send the item then PayPal has the permissions to refund you the money etc...

eBay is pretty safe. I buy on there a bunch of times! You could also try Amazon.com - sometimes they have cheaper prices.
