How to find businesses to sponsor your training as a model?

• In my agency I have to go to training to go to this World Wide Models Convention and I can get a sponsor to put up money for my training. They will be recieving MAJOR advertisement as this is a WORLD WIDE event. I'm just wondering how do I go about finding a sponsor, or are there websites where you can find a small business willing to put up money for my training?? Its legit btw.

  No there are no websites for things like this. You need to go around to local businesses and see if anyone is willing to sponsor you But if this is a worldwide event, the event organisers should be the ones getting sponsorship, not the individual models. I've never heard of a model having to get her own sponsorship for something like this. For example with Elite Model Look and Ford Supermodel of the World, the two largest and most prestigious model searches in the world, the models are not charged a cent to enter or asked to find sponsors. The organisers find sponsors in each country - normally magazines, cosmetics/haircare companies, fashion designers, etc. Ford Supermodel of the World's sponsors include ELLE Magazine, Nautica, Maybelline, Nexxus hair care, etc Anyone trying to make you get your own sponsors sounds like a con. I've been in the industry for 13 years and have NEVER heard of the World Wide Models Convention. They definitely are not one of the big model searches in the world. And the fact they are asking you to get your own sponsorship should be raising huge red flags. As I said, if they were legitimate, they would have no problem attracting major global sponsors like Loreal, Vidal Sassoon, Guess, etc. It's really worrying when you google "World Wide Models Covention" and not one post comes up. If they were a huge worldwide event, you'd expect to find thousands and thousands of hits about them, links to press around the world, video clips, pictures, etc. But there is nothing. If I were you I'd do a bit more research before you commit to this because something doesn't sound right
