How To Shop Online At Argos?

How do Argos, the catalogue shop, get the goods you buy in store to you so quickly?

  • It always amazes me, you go into Argos, choose your stuff, pay and go to the collection point and hey presto your stuff appears generally quite quickly.

    My brother in law was an Argos fairy along with loads of other students - they hang around in a warehouse and the items required appear on a monitor, they collect it, put it on a conveyor and hey presto, you have your goods. Well, that's if they're not too busy mucking about. Even now (11 years after leaving) you can shout "Prams!" or "Garden Hose!" at him and he can tell you the serial numbers.

Like to know which Argos you use then - personally I've always found them to be complete nonces and ended up waiting 20 mins at a time!

I find that I've always had to wait at least 20 odd minutes to recieve my things in Argos. You're lucky!

Thats funny cos in my local store you have to wait around for about 20 minutes! No wonder they put chairs and lemon water out.

Think you've been lucky. I got a pair of hair clippers there recently for a friend. The place was empty, I paid using the machine then stood at the collection bit for about half an hour. I will never use the place again. Oh, and the people who did come into the shop while I was there were lowlife scum. A horrible shopping experience. Why does it exist? Why not just have the stuff on a shelf? Surely the system they use only makes the need for more staff?
