Walmart return/exchange policy?

Walmart return policy-Help please! (;?

  • Soo I'm wondering...I bought a christmas tree from Walmart last Christmas around this time and never used it. I obviously don't have the receipt anymore and I am wayyyy past the 90 day return policy time. SO my question is this...Would it work if I took the unopened Christmas tree back to Walmart, told them I bought it this weekend but found out I don't need it but that I've lost the receipt. Would they be able to give me in store credit since it's the Christmas season and they've already displayed the tree's exactly like mine? Or will their scanner (once they scan the tree to process the in store credit) show that it was purchased a year ago?? Does anyone know if there is a way of them knowing when an item was purchased?? Serious answers only please! And thank you to anyone that answers! :)

  • Answer:

Be up front with them . Tell them honestly what happened . You will probably only get credit forthe " after Xmas " close out price . Be happy with that .

my wife works for wal-mart and she said the trees are not recorded as to when they are bought, and if it is unopened and the box is in good shape you CAN get in-store credit for the item!!
