Should I go for Nursing or Athletic Training?

What are the best nursing homes or hospitals to go to for CNA training? St. Louis, Mo.?

I am a medical assistant and I want to become a nurse assistant and move on up to become a CNA. I was told by many CNA'S that I don't need to enroll in school to become a CNA. I need some good tips on the decent nursing homes or hospitals that offer on the job training to become a CNA. THANKS...
