What are some jobs a 16 year old can work at?

What jobs can 16 year olds get that aren't in food industry and preferably work with people a lot?

  • Preferably pays decently and i would consider working in like a clothes store but i heard that's really boring. i was think camp counselor or something along those lines but i dont know of any that hire 16 year olds.

    Try local book stores or small local sales businesses. They often have someone to do odd jobs and run a register and such. Also, you might want to look into hospitals they have escorts and such. The only requirement for most of them is cpr training.

Go to somewhere like Barnes Jewish or Childrens or one of the many hospitals down there and see if they need candy stripers. Or an amusement area or even the Galeria! You'd meet all kinds of people.

You can always bag groceries. I work at Schnucks and nearly all our baggers and 16 or 17. You deal with a lot of people, granted they aren't always nice but that happens anywhere you work. I have no idea what they start at(not something we really discuss)
