Where can i donate clothes in London?

Does anyone know of a trustworthy place to donate clothes to help needy people in san francisco?

  • I donated a lot clothes before to someone who said she was gonna help people oversees, but that didnt happen, the clothes were sold, and i dont want that to happen again, but i have a lot of clothes that i dont want anymore, and i wish to help someone who actually needs the clothes and wont sell them or try to get something out of it,but i dont know of a good place to donate,i have like 7 very large bags of clothes,i dont wanna try to sell them because its a hassle and it would be nice to be able to help someone who is actually in need, does anyone have any ideas?

  • Answer:

St Anthony's Dining Room accepts donations of any kind, including used clothing. they are on Golden Gate Avenue just off Market and Jones. There is also an outlet in Walnut Creek CA, I think it is called First Step. There are also numerous drop-off points, like St Vincent De Paul and Salvation Army. Get receipts for tax purposes.

Okay I do ont know whether you are male or female. If you are female, Dress for Success will take your work-type clothing and give them to low income women who are reentering the job market. St. Anthony's Career Clothing Center in SF also takes men & women's work oriented clothing. Image for Success in San Rafael takes men, women and children's clothing for the same reason (low income school clothes) If they are not work-related clothing, you can give to Goodwill, Salvation Army, Glide Memorial, Riley Center of St. Vincent de Paul , W.O.M.A.N. Inc. Goodwill will give some away and sell some, but it all goes ot a good cause!!

once a month a notice is sent out for donations for clothes and furniture in some parts of San Francisco, the donations are left on the side walk and are picked up, I think the Salvation Army does it

I take my stuff to the thrift shop on the corner of Duboce and Church. I think it's called "Out of the Closet." They do sell the donations but for very nominal prices and some of the proceeds go to Maitri Hospice which is right around the corner ... it's in the same building actually.
