UPS lost my package. What do I do?

UPS lost me package!?

• I ordered a 1000$ value laptop from NY and it suppose to be here (downtown SF near union square) on Mon by UPS. I checked at their tracking site every hr during work, expecting them to come back for 2nd attempt since no one was at my apt that time. But at 11:21am, it says the package had been delivered AT THE FRONT DOOR! I instantly rush back and get there around 12:30pm. I checked with all my neighbors, building manager, lobby area, even buildings near me…The package was gone!! WTH! It’s a signature required package, how can they just leave it at the front door!? Besides, my front door is on a busy street where thousands of people walk by everyday! So now, UPS is doing an “investigation”. I wonder how they are going to find out exactly what happened. Do they have a high rate of chance finding the lost package? It sounds like UPS broke the rule: leaving high value + signature required package on a busy street without any signature. Are they going to admit it’s their fault?

  If it was a signature required package and if they can not provide a valid signature, then they are kind of stuck.
