How to track a stolen mobile?

Do you know how to track something that was stolen?

  • When I lived in Arizona, I had something stolen from me by one of my roommates. It was a gold ring my grandmother gave to me on my 15th birthday. She'd had it for years, and it was going to be a family heirloom. It's very important to me. My roommate stole it from me so he could move back to Mexico. The ring came up missing and then he was gone the next day. His sisters told me they had seen him with the ring. He took some other stuff from me and sold it all and then claimed it came up missing after he "borrowed" it. All of my roommates (him and his two sisters) moved back to Mexico, and I have no idea how to get in touch with them. I've been trying to find them, but I can't. I know that if he took the ring, he sold it. So my question is, do any of you know if there's a way to track the ring? I'd really appreciate your help. My grandmother has since passed away, and getting the ring back means so much to me.

  • Answer:

If you have a photo of the ring, you may be able to contact pawn shops in the area. I am sorry that happened to you, I had something like that happen in the past. I would try finding a photo of it, or writing down a very detailed description. Were there any characteristics that you can prove it's yours, like an inscription or a loose stone? That would help. Depending on how long ago it was stolen, you might be able to file a police report.
