How old do you have to be to get a job at Starbucks?

How old do you have to be to get a real job in Phoenix, Arizona such as Starbucks, the mall, etc?

  • Im 15 and 7 months years old and I have been working for a taxi company ever since i turned 14 and 3 months years old. They pay me $6.50/hour and the job is extremely stressful. Do you think they will make an exception? How much would they pay?

    I think you ought to check out the state minimum wage, because I think you are getting underpaid. Most places do want you to be at least 16 because the laws are different for 15yo. They can only work you so many hours per week and it is not much during the school week. Plus, by law they cannot work a 15yo after a certain time ... think it is 9pm. So most employers just would rather not bother with you. You can't really blame them. But, check out your state laws, your not being paid minimum wage!! They owe you 'back pay' ... assert your rights!! Minimum wage in Az. went to 6.75 in Jan 08. This month will be changed to 7.50 an hour!! Don't let yourself get jerked around just because your a kid. Demand your money. If they don't pay, then file a claim against them with the state. They can't even fire you for filing a claim, then ... you'd have another claim!! The law is great ... use it!!

yoou should be able to get a job because in arizona the minimum age for a "real" job is usually 15... but it really depends on the place that you want to work... go check out some of you fav. places and see if they are hiring and what the age is..... im pretty sure star bucks is 18 tho

minors get minimum wage, in almost every place and alot of places will not hire you until you are 16 years old
