Where can i donate clothes in London?

Where to donate clothes in Philadelphia?

  • I would like to donate some clothes/shoes to someone who really needs them. I would like to donate to those that have HIV/AIDS. But, whoever I donate to, I would like the things to go to them, for free. I know I can donate to thrift stores, but they re-sell items to the public. I want the items to go to those in need. Feel me? Please let me know if you know of any places. Thanks.

  • Answer:

I want to clear up your comment about the thrift stores selling their items to the public. A thrift store connected with a charity (like a hospital or social service agency) takes in donated clothing and other items, sells them to the public, and then takes the proceeds from that sale and gives it to the needy. Your donations are not being wasted. I can appreciate that you want your clothing to go straight to the needy, but please keep in mind that every needy person does not need or want your old size 8 Gap tee shirt, and might need a different size or something for their children, or something other than clothing. The sale proceeds can go for services such as free health care or free meals, which the sponsoring charity will administer.
