Is there any place that's hiring in the philadelphia area for a part time student?

• I'm 17 years old and I would like to work part time anywhere in the center city area of Philadelphia. I was thinking about heading down to Sweet Endings and apply for an application but I don't think their hiring. I do not have any work experience but would like to jump into it now. I need cash so I can pay for upcoming trips and events. Is there any place like a coffee shop or retail store that is hiring at the moment? Please no fast food restaurants, thanks.

  When searching for a part time job, look for jobs that need someone to work only during the hours you will be available. A good way to find a job in the Philadelphia area is to talk to working adults who may be serving the public in some capacity in which you would also like to serve. Someone might give you a good lead. For example if you would like to work at Sweet Endings, go there on your best behavior, as a customer and observe the atmosphere and the others working there, unobtrusively.. Then return and speak to someone you may have come into positive contact with the first time about their experience with the personnel office there. You might find yourself making a serious visit and you will already have an entry point with a current employee as a reference person and first hand observations of the operations there during business hours. If one location does not yield results, try another place in the area where you are interested in working. When you go to visit the second time, have a prepared resume with you, in case you get to visit personnel that same day. It could happen. Colleges, bookstores, banks, and other public institutions frequently hire newcomers. Best wishes.
