Where can I sell my used textbooks around Orlando, FL?
-
I need to sell several textbooks to help pay for a trip I'm taking this month. Is there anywhere in the Winter Park/Orlando/Casselberry area that I can sell them at for a good price?? I'd rather not sell them over the internet because I don't have that much time.

Answer:
If they are university level textbooks then go to the UCF bookstore. They will buy them if they are not out of date.

I understand your need for immediacy, but unfortunately you aren't going to get as much for them locally as you will online. Maybe you can borrow money before the trip, and then sell them online when you get back or something? Idk. But if you do pursue selling them online (I would recommend buying them online too btw.) then I would suggest using http://www.bigwords.com They are a textbook search engine that searches all the online textbook retailers and rental sites to find you the best prices. And at the end of the semester you can use them to search for resellers to sell your book to. All the search results are organized by price so you can buy your books for the lowest prices and sell them back for the highest.

I recommend Chegg to sell texts for the highest prices. Go to their site and put in the book info for an instant quote. You can ship the books out with a free shipping label the same day! I also rent texts from them every semester. Here is a code for an extra $5 back when selling Chegg your texts. The code also gives a discount when renting texts from them. Put in the code and hit the “apply” button. The code does not have an expiration date so it can every time you rent books or sell from Chegg. Here it is: CC123047

There's a new website, www.bookbay.net that allows you to exchange textbooks with other students from your school. There's a good search feature (you can search by course, professor, if it contains highlighting, etc) and you can arrange meetups on campus. It's also free. It's brand new but I think it will catch on quickly.

If you are talking college books you are pretty much out of time. School starts on Monday the 10th. My son sold his on wednesday and they said that was the last day. Plus they rarely use them more than one semester so you are probably out of luck.
