Does anyone know of a good IT recruiter in Manhattan?

I am a Business Analyst currently for a consulting company on contract for the US Navy in NH and I want to find a job in Manhattan this year. My lease ends in August so that is my deadline. I have about 8 months experience currently. I called one recruiter from Robert Half technology and he hardly gave me the time of day. I have applied to some positions on Craigslist and have had no luck. Any advice/ideas to get the ball rolling?

have you explored actually working for the US Navy itself? If you're contracted to them via a consulting company, you may stand a chance of being hired directly by the Navy itself. Alternatively, why don't you look at the competitors for your current company and see if they're looking for people? Craigslist is a horribel job board btw. Don't put all your hopes in it... or any. Volt is a good posting service, as is Spherion. Both cater to IT
