How do you become a good salesperson?

• i recently applied at best buy and they called back for an interview i applied for a sales job, and well it means im going to have to be selling things i've heard at the interview that they are going to want you to try to sell them something. what are some good tips i should know about trying to convince them to buy the product and eventually turn into a good salesman?

  Never consider yourself a "salesperson" - you are a customer service representative. People come in with a vague idea of what they want - and you assist them in choosing a product to fulfill their needs. You try to provide enough information to allow the customer to feel that this is indeed a high quality product that your store stands behind, and is a value at its price. Nothing could be easier.
