Walgreens Skills Assessment test?

  • Hello, Today, I applied for a retail position at Walgreens for summer employment in my local hometown. After I finished the application, it said I had to go to the store in person to finish up on the skills assessment test. However, currently I am studying at a university and I'm away from home. Does the skills assessment test need to be completed right away? In my application, I stated that I can start in mid May when I come back for summer break. What do you think I should do next? Any help would be appreciated! Thank you!

    I would most definitely contact them right away, and explain your situation. The skills test that they are giving is very basic, it involves some simple math and other general questions. You must realize that Walgreens has maybe 6 employees in the store including the manager on their busiest days. You will be trained in every aspect of the job to entail the cash register. I would let them know your situation and ask when would be the latest they would allow you to take the skills test.

It's Walgreens,...gimme a break,...skills asessment? What skills could possibly be required to work there? The only thing the employees at MY local Walgreens are good at is giving everyone a whole lot of attitude. I don't think they're gonna pressure you for a test to see if you're smart enough,...as you're enrolled in a University & that tends to be persuasive enough to calm anyone who has doubts about your intelligence/capability. I wouldn't worry about it if I were you.
