Where can a 14-year-old get a job?

What is a place in New York where i can get a job at the age of 15?

  • I am a 15 year old with my friend who is also 15 and we are looking for a job in the Douglaston/Little Neck/Bayside area. Basically Queens, NY. And we are told we look a lot older than we are. I am actually able to purchase R tickets at the movie theater without a doubt haha. We are serious about getting a job and have no prior working experience. Today is the second day we have looked for a job. The first day we visited 31 different places. Today we visited 48. After asking a little about us including our age, all of them said they don't want any help, we are too young, or that we can apply (usually just trying to be nice). People always say that McDonalds is rock bottom and that you could definetly get a job there. We tried all the fast food places, movie theaters, Toys R Us, Macys, hotels, deli's, pizza stores, a few lawyers, restaurants, pet shops, and even a Mr. Softee Truck. Everything you think a person could possibly pass on Northern Boulevard and Douglaston Parkway we tried. If you have any suggestions for a job, i will seriously take anything that i can get to. Preferably something that might have air conditioning. But it doesnt its fine. Oh, and we are not looking for something to be simply a summer job. I am looking for an actual part time all year long job.

  • Answer:

A good place to look since you live in the city are little local markets run by small business owners.
