How do I get my worker's permit?

How can a 13 year old get a workers permit?

  • I live in Roy, Utah and I just turned 13. I really really really want a job so I can make money, I have tried garage sales, paper routes, babysitting, lawn mowing, snow shoveling, and online survery sites that pay you and none of them did me any good. No one needs me to perform any of those services and my family refustes to pay me to do extra chores. I heard that 13 year olds can get a job at places like grocery stores stocking shelves as long as they have a workers permit. My question is, how do you get one? Does it cost you any money? What do you need to qualify? Will any store take you if they are looking for workers and you lave a workers permit? Where do you go to get one?And If you are 14 instead of 13, do you still need a permit or will stores hire you without one? Thanks

Workers Permit is free, and you get it from your guidance counselors office from your Highschool. You basically need a workers permit if your under 18. Employers are not allowed by law to hire any minor without a workers permit But I wouldn't bother getting one now. At your age, your a liabilty for most employers, so your chance of getting hired at even a fast food restaurant is slim to none Wait until your 15, you'll have a much better chance of getting hired
