I understand that I lost my job in NYC and I collect in NJ, but do I get the max NJ amount or the max NY amoun?
-
I know NJ unemployment max is higher than NY, so do I get the NJ amount?
-
Answer:
All your benefits are based on your NY job, they are just paid by checks issued by NJ. You need to qualifty under NY rules, get weekly benefits based on NY rules, and the maximum you can claim will be under NY rules.
