    By not being pushy, and being totally friendly, but not going overboard. Setting up the sale in a way to make the customer think he's the one in control and has the final say. But actually saying things to steer him in a certain way of thinking. I think good salesman have to be somewhat manipulative, but very skilled so that the customer almost doesn't realize they're being manipulated. My husband is in sales, do you know how many time i've talkted to him about something, and he completely ignores what i'm actually saying and steers the conversation in a totally different direction?! I have to tell him to leave his bs ing at work!
