I assume you're in NYC since you're posting in this section. Your best bet is to walk around to every little boutique in the city, ask for the manager or owner, and show them your stuff. The more shops you can get placement in, the more leverage you will have with a buyer at a department store when you make it to that point. It's pretty hard to jump straight to a national chain. Also, make sure you set up a website, even if it's just for contact info, and get that site on all your product tags. A buyer from Macy's might just walk into one of those little shops and want to know how to get in touch with whomever makes that jewelry. Another thing you can do is figure out how to be a vendor at a street fair or one of the flea markets down in SoHo. If you sell a lot of product there, then that's information you can use when you're talking to the managers/owners of the boutiques. Good luck!
