  Many entry level jobs start at minimum wage. You might be able to find a job paying about $2 above minimum wage, but in this economy they have many applications per position so they can pay less. You would have a hard time being able to afford an apt without a roommate, realistically. Maybe you could find a single for $700 but that would be around half your net income. It might be hard to find an apt with that rent. A lot of the jobs you might be interested in either have too many employees - customer service in places like Best Buy and Staples is amazing right now, or have lots of applications. If you already live nearby, go out to the stores in the mall, IKEA, and where Target is and start applying. I think you can apply for Target online, probably some of the others. I think In n Out pays over minimum wage. The job market is so tight right now, just keep putting in applications and you'll get hired eventually.
