Does anyone know a good site about solid waste?

Does anyone have any / know any uses for timber pallets?

I work on a construction site and there are alot of redundant timber pallets which are left as waste and simply thrown away. The owners of the pallets dont want to recycle them as its cheaper to buy new ones. Does anyone know / can suggest any uses for them as it seems a real waste to throw them away ..... Any help / suggestions would be most appreciated!

I knew a guy just like you in Cincy who make all kinds of things from them, he got them free for the hauling from construction sites he worked on. He made dog houses, bird houses, plant stands, benches, child sized anorandac chairs and tables, and that is just what I can remember. He made me an adorable dog house that I had for years.
