Where in LA is it where you can find all the wholesalers?

We are trying to open a retail shop of shoes and purses, I was to told to go to LA to get the best deals, but the problem is that I have no clue where to go! It was explained to me that its like a whole street where these wholesalers have everything for dirt cheap. But I dont know what its called or where its located, someone please enlighten me!
